A promising alternative: examining TVS tellurite glass for gamma radiation shielding applications

Radiation shielding is crucial in many types of medical, industrial, and nuclear facilities due to the widespread usage radioactive isotopes. In this research, we examine impact tellurite 65TeO 2 –(35-x)V O 5 -xSm 3 glasses, where x ranges from 0.1 mol%, for its security radiation versus gamma attenuation capabilities. For gamma, effect that systematic replacement Sm with V has on qualities was dissected great depth. addition, comparative research carried out using most recent borate glasses typical materials considered industry standard. study, utilized FLUKA algorithm FLAIR graphical interface calculate coefficients glass compositions system. The energies 0.356, 0.662, 1.332, 2.614 MeV, commonly used investigations, were selected as source. A comparison between simulation results by theoretical calculations mass demonstrated excellent agreement, confirming reliability accuracy method. findings current point fact TVS5 sample highest G MAC lowest HVL MFP, among other glasses.
